Bio
Anthony M. Mwanthi is currently a Climate Modelling Assistant at the IGAD Climate Prediction Centre (ICPAC) working on provision of climate services in East Africa. He is also pursuing his PhD studies on land-atmosphere interactions at the University of Nairobi, Department of Earth and Climate Sciences . As a LaunchPAD fellow, he working to highlight the land-atmosphere coupling patterns in CMIP6 models over Africa. His work will provide important information on the representation of both land and lower boundary processes in climate models over Africa. Anthony is also a member of The Resilient40 https://resilient40.com/, a group of young people over Africa under Africa-UK partnership geared towards building climate resilience over the Continent. His research interests include land-atmosphere interactions, heat stress and climate services for emerging challenges such as desert locusts. Loves cycling and farming!
